Zim sculpture haven is a community of Zimbabwean sculptors forming a movement of artist from different regions of the country. Zimbabwe is the only country on the African continent with vast deposits of natural stones good enough for curving. All of these stones are naturally formed to withstand cold and high temperatures making then ideal for outdoor displays for years without any change in structure or formation.The curved stones weather well such that they keep the inner spectacular beauty for a good number of years, bringing both joy and beauty to their collectors.

The Zimbabwe stone sculpture movement back dates to as far as 1956,where the 1st generation of artist was formed. Most of these passionate and talented artists whom we witness today come from a bloodline of generational sculptors, most of whom form the 1st generation. These 1st generation sculptures have provided great inspiration, motivation and teachings to their offsprings and many aspiring artist around the sculpting fraternity. Most of these sculptors did not get the privilege to attend any formal school of art, but have been motivated and creative enough to curve such magnificent pieces of art. The great works of these artist have been exhibited and found new homes across the globe, including UK, Canada, USA and Australia only to name a few.

Having been born and raised in the remote regions of the country with no access to modern power tools or electricity, most of these artist have been very innovative in making man made hand tools and workshop-make-shifts to work on and perfect their works to meet recognisable international artistic standards. With the aim of showcasing their masterpieces to the world and not wanting to be left aside in the growth of the world’s sculpting movement, comes the formation of Zim Sculpture Haven (ZSH).

ZSH is driven to bring to the modern world the great works of both old and young upcoming artists from all walks of life, including and involving even those in the most remote areas of the country to have an equal opportunity to exhibit their talents to the international community. ZSH sculptures are carved out of NATURAL stones offering an eco friendly environment and the pieces are AUTHENTIC after being signed and certified by the artist and this enables a fair and reasonable pricing model to the collector as they get to buy direct from the artist and gets to enjoy the PRICELESS pieces of art at their home.
